BERLIN, VT. The Vermont Lottery marks its 30th Anniversary this month with a new game that gives players the chance to win $1 million later this year. After being formed by the 1977 General Assembly, the Vermont Lottery Commission introduced its fi rst ticket, Green Mountain Game, on Feb. 14, 1978. Since July 1998, all profits from the Lottery have been earmarked for the state’s Education Fund, which in Fiscal Year 2007 totaled more than $23 million.
To celebrate its 30th anniversary, the Vermont Lottery has introduced a new instant game, the Vermont Lottery’s 30th Anniversary Ticket - with a second-chance grand prize of $1 million. The game is now available for sale through all Lottery agents. The Lottery also will hold other promotions during the year, with a variety of prizes to be awarded.

BERLIN, VT. January 4, 2008 Someone from Vermont will ring in the New Year with a second celebration after winning $250,000 on Friday, Vermont Lottery officials announced today. The as-yet unnamed winner holds the top prize won in Vermont as part of the Tri-State New Year Millionaire raffle game. The winning ticket was sold at Bob’s M . M Beverage in Randolph.
The grand prize of $1 million was sold in New Hampshire. The winning tickets were drawn Friday at the Tri-State Lottery Draw Center in Concord, N.H. The Vermont Lottery added the Raffle game to its line-up of products with this first ever Tri-State New Year Millionaire game. Sales began on November 1st and ended on December 31, 2007. BERLIN, VT. A Colchester man warmed up his holiday season this week after claiming a $100,000 prize he won from a Winter Cash Blast instant ticket.
Peter Brigante purchased the ticket at Jolley Short Stop in South Burlington and immediately knew he’d won the big prize. He put the ticket in his pocket, went right home, and asked his fiancee to pinch him to make sure he wasn’t dreaming. She confirmed that yes, in fact, he now has $100,000 toward his retirement that he did not have last week.
