The PowerPlay® number selected was 3, which tripled the player’s Powerball® winnings to $600,000.
The winner purchased his ticket at the Hot Spot in Greenville. I’ve been playing Powerball for about a year and I always buy the PowerPlay® option, the winner said. COLUMBIA, SC (January 17, 2008) After days of waiting anxiously, the $600,000 Powerball® winner finally came forth! A Florence county woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, said she bought her winning Powerball® ticket for the Wednesday, January 9 drawing from Markette Store # 24 in Florence. The winner correctly matched the numbers 2, 13, 20, 21, and 23 and purchased the PowerPlay® multiplier option. The PowerPlay® number selected was 3, which tripled her Powerball® winnings to $600,000. She missed winning the $71 million jackpot by only one number. I was shocked at first, but then I realized this was a great blessing, so I prayed about it for several days before I decided to claim my prize. The lucky lady has big plans for her winnings. I intend to bless my church, remodel my kitchen, and put my nephew through college, then medical school, she said.
The winner has been playing the Lottery for only one year but plays Powerball® every week. On special occasions she purchases a Cash Bonanza Riches instant ticket. COLUMBIA, SC (December 27, 2007) It feels good! That’s the reaction from a North Augusta man who walked into the Columbia Claims Center to cash in a winning Powerball® ticket worth a whopping $200,000! The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, waited almost a week to find out he was a winner. I bought the ticket for the Saturday, December 15 Powerball® drawing, but I didn’t check the numbers until December 20.
Why did he wait several days to check his numbers? I usually have the cashier run my tickets through the lottery terminal when I buy tickets for the next Powerball drawing, so there’s a delay knowing if I’m a winner or not, he explained. I might change my routine now and check my numbers sooner, the player laughed. He bought his ticket at Circle K Stores #5340 in North Augusta. The 39-year-old winner plans to use his cash to pay off his house then save the rest. He says Powerball is his favorite Lottery game. The player used the quick pick option to pick his numbers. He correctly matched all five white ball numbers but missed the red Powerball number. The winning numbers in the December 15 drawing were 22, 37, 47, 48, and 50. The Powerball was 17 and the PowerPlay multiplier was 3. There were no jackpot winners in the $15 million drawing. The jackpot now stands at $42 million for Saturday’s drawing.
