$237,525 Wild Money Jackpot Hit and $10,000 PowerBall Winner There were four tickets sold in Rhode Island that proved to be big winners over the weekend. The $237,525 Wild Money jackpot was hit by three separate lotto ticket holders accompanied by a $10,000 winning PowerBall lotto ticket. Wild Money, Rhode Island’s own progressive jackpot game, made three lucky players $79,175 richer Saturday night. The $237,525 was split evenly between the winning tickets. The locations where these tickets were sold are listed below. Heritage Liquors Dairy Land Farms Sam’s Food Mart 529 Reservoir Avenue 723 Quaker Lane 200 Pleasant View Avenue Cranston West Warwick Smithfield
The $10,000 winning ticket also sold in Rhode Island for Saturday night’s $89 million PowerBall® drawing, matched 4 numbers and the PowerBall number. The standard payout for this type of win is $10,000. However, if this player had opted to purchase the Power Play® feature for an additional dollar on the wager, the $10,000 prize would have been multiplied by 3, Saturday’s Power Play® number, to equal $30,000.
The $10,000 winning ticket was purchased from the M and M New York System in East Providence.
Luis Gordillo of Providence, RI claimed the $200,000 winning ticket sold in Rhode Island for last night’s PowerBall® drawing. Luis seldom plays the Lottery, but purchased the ticket when he stopped by the Jefferson Global at 15 Jefferson Blvd., Warwick, on the way to pick up a friend whose car had broken down earlier that day. That ticket matched the first five numbers, but not the PowerBall number. The standard payout for this type of win is $200,000. However, if Luis had opted to purchase the Power Play® feature for an additional dollar on the wager, his $200,000 prize would have been multiplied by four, Wednesday’s Power Play® number, to equal $800,000.

Below is a listing of the November claim dates, prize amounts, Game names, city or town of the winners and the retailer location where the winning tickets were purchased. After two weeks, the $151.9 million winning PowerBall® ticket from the Nov 28th drawing sold in Rhode Island still remains unclaimed. The ticket was purchased from the Warren Mart at 428 Child St., Warren. There has been no communication with the ticket holder at this time. The Rhode Island Lottery strongly recommends that this player immediately sign the back of his or her ticket, keep it in a safe place and seek sound financial and legal advice. The winning ticket holder has a year from the date of the drawing to claim the big prize. He or she then has 60 days from the date of validation to choose between the annuity and cash payment options. If the prize goes unclaimed for the full year, the $151.9 million would be divided amongst all the PowerBall® states and jurisdictions proportionately to their sales for that specific drawing.
One lucky ticket in Rhode Island matched all 6 numbers Wednesday evening and walked away with the $151.9 million jackpot. The holder of the winning ticket will now have to decide to either take the 29-year, 30-installment annuity, or take the one time cash lump sum amount of $75,231,092. The ticket was purchased from the Warren Mart at 428 Child St., Warren, Rhode Island.
Rhode Island Man Hits Big with $1 Million Power Play Winner!
Anthony McGrath of Harrisville claimed a $1 million dollar cash prize from the November 7th Powerball drawing. McGrath won the prize as a result of correctly matching all 5 white ball numbers and having the Power Play option. The normal prize for matching all 5 white balls correctly is $200,000, but because of his wise decision to purchase the Power Play feature for an additional dollar, his prize was multiplied by 5. He plans to take care of his two daughters, future sons-in-law, and ex-wife with his winnings. He has volunteered for many years with Amos House and is looking forward to being able to make a donation this year. He attributes his good fortune to karma and the luck of the Irish. McGrath purchased the ticket from Li'l General in Harrisville.
