25 winners share Lotto’s massive $19 million

August 2008: 25 winners share Lotto’s massive $19 million - four winning entries from NSW Last night’s massive Saturday Lotto $19 million First Division prize pool was shared by 25 winners nationally. Four of the winning entries were sold in NSW, eight in Queensland, seven in Western Australia, five in Victoria, and one in South Australia. Each winning entry is worth $760,000.

In NSW the winning entries were purchased in Sydney’s CBD, the Sydney suburb of Carlton, Jerilderie in the Murrumbidgee region, and Trangie in the State’s Central West.

Sydney lotto winner

A Sydney woman’s first reaction was to assume that she was the victim of a prank call when a NSW Lotteries official called her this morning to inform her of her Lotto windfall. Oh, my God, you're sure this isn't a joke, my God, I just can't believe it,” the astounded winner exclaimed. My brain is like spaghetti, I don't know what to think. I can't wait to call my husband and tell him, but he won't believe it. We're going on a holiday in a few weeks, and I’ve been looking forward to this trip for a long time, now we can stay in a really nice hotel and I can shop to my heart’s content, this win will make our lives a lot easier. The Eastern Suburbs lady said her Saturday Lotto entry was a second thought, “I wasn't even going to buy my ticket, but then I thought I might win something, so I got a Megapick. Can you believe that? I love Megapicks.” The city worker purchased her winning entry from the MLC Centre Newsagency at 19-29 Martin Place in Sydney’s CBD. NSW Lotteries officials were able to contact the lucky winner this morning as she had registered her ticket with the NSW Lotteries Players Club.

Carlton lotto winner

The winning ticket sold in Carlton was not purchased by a member of NSW Lotteries Players Club, and so NSW Lotteries are unable to contact the lucky winner. The $760,000 winning entry was purchased at Carlton Newsagency at 322 Railway Parade in Carlton. Steven Guan from Carlton Newsagency said that he was very happy to have sold a winning ticket and will put a sign up to tell his customers to check their tickets.

Jerilderie lotto winner

As the owner of the winning ticket purchased in Jerilderie is not a member of the NSW Lotteries Players Club, officials have no way of contacting them to inform them of their windfall. It is likely that the lucky winner could be completely oblivious to their new found fortune. NSW Lotteries advises all Lotto fans who purchased their Saturday Lotto Superdraw tickets from Jerilderie Newsagency at 28 Jerilderie Street in Jerilderie to check their numbers very carefully as they may be holding the $760,000 winning entry. Newsagency worker Alana Smith was very excited to find out that they had sold one of the winning tickets in Lotto’s $19 million Superdraw. “We love selling winning tickets and bringing good luck to our small community here in Jerilderie,” she said.

Trangie lotto winner

A Trangie Lotto player got quite a shock when picking up the Sunday papers at Trangie Newsagency this morning. The unsuspecting Lotto player checked their Saturday Lotto Superdraw ticket at the same time only to find out that they had won $760,000. I can't tell you how much excitement this has caused in the shop, we are thrilled to bits, not only to have sold a winning ticket but to have sold it to a much loved regular customer,” David Wake, owner of Trangie Newsagency said. I hope their good fortune brings them lots of happiness and comfort,” Mr Wake added. The winning entry was purchased from Trangie Newsagency at 27 Dandaloo Street in Trangie.
