As of 2005, when the Ashley Madison Foundation will be formally established, we intend to donate to nonprofit organizations addressing critical issues in the areas of civil rights and civil liberties, freedom of expression, human sexuality, women’s rights and health.
Through the company’s contributions, we will provide not-for-profit organizations with grants in the form of cash and services in-kind, including website design and hosting, consultation, printing and public service advertising on the Ashley Madison website.

Ashley Madison Foundation Grants

Civil Rights Civil Liberties
A belief in women's evolving role in society, individual rights, and the democratic principles upon which this country was founded is the basis of Ashley Madison's philosophy and the Ashley Madison Foundation's philanthropy. During the ensuing months the Foundation will award grants to organizations working on issues of equality, truth, fairness, privacy, freedom and the evolution of female sexuality.
The Human Condition and the Evolution of Female Sexuality
Since our inception, The Ashley Madison Agency has been at the vanguard of recognizing biology's role in human love, sexuality and relationships. The Ashley Madison Foundation provides grants and underwriting support to organizations working to secure and preserve factual studies that identify the impact of women in modern day society in business, sex and family life and the evolution of female sexuality.
Ashley Madison Foundation Guidelines
The Ashley Madison Foundation is being established "to pursue, perpetuate and protect the principles of freedom and democracy." The Ashley Madison Foundation seeks to foster social change by confining its grants and other support to projects of national impact and scope involved in fostering open communication about, and research into, human sexuality, health and women's rights, protecting and fostering civil rights and civil liberties for all people, and eliminating censorship and protecting freedom of expression.
The Foundation accepts grant proposals throughout the year. The Board of Directors will generally meet in the fall to consider proposals. Grants range from $1000-$10,000. We are especially interested in projects where a small grant can make a significant difference.
Request for funds should include the following information:
Description of the organization, including a summary of its background, purpose, objectives and experience in the area for which funds are sought. Audited financial statements for the most recently completed fiscal year, as well as an itemized project budget and proposed funding sources; amount of funds requested, their proposed use and over what time period. Names and qualifications of people involved with the project. Organizational expenses and income for previous, current and coming fiscal year. List of board members, their titles, outside affiliations and phone numbers. Government verification that the organization is not a private foundation and is exempt from taxation. A copy of this certification must accompany the proposal. Grant Limitations
The Ashley Madison Foundation will not consider religious programs, individual needs, capital campaigns, endowments, scholarships or fellowships; nor social services, including residential care, clinics, treatment or recreation programs; national health, welfare, educational or cultural organizations, or their state or provincial local affiliates; nor government agencies or projects.

REVENUES RISE 10% AS CUSTOMERS TAKE TO DEBIT CARD PAYMENTS.
TORONTO, CANADA (April 2004) - In just 9 months since signing up with UseMyBank's online debit payment service, The Ashley Madison Agency has increased sales by 10% and attributes the up-tick in revenue to customer's being able to pay using their online bank. More options means more revenue.
The Ashley Madison Agency, which operates one of Canada's busiest online dating services says that the option to add debit cards to it's stable of payment options was necessary. Ashley Madison spokesman, Darren Morgenstern says 'fickle customers want choice...and we are in the people pleasing business'. Ashley Madison signed up for the online payment solution in August 2003 after customer buying patterns and surveys suggested their members would acclimate to an instant, online debit card payment system. Online debit is similar to the experience of swiping your bankcard at a Point-of-sale terminal through the Interac Network.
Under the terms of their agreement, UseMyBank will facilitate Ashley Madison's customers for all online debit transactions. As an alternative to using cheques, credit cards or money orders, members enjoy the additional payment option of using their existing online bank account. This will be advantageous to the 40%-50% of consumers that don't have or use credit cards online. Checkout abandonment occurs in nearly 50 percent of all cases at the time credit card information is requested. That's a lot of lost sales.
Ashley Madison can rely on 'immediate confirmation of receipt of funds' as the payment is debited immediately from the customer's bank account and queued for settlement - without holdbacks, chargeback's or NSF's. Together with over 500 other online merchants, Ashley Madison enjoys the capability of accepting instant online debit payments from over 8.4 million major bank consumers.
