Adagio Tea Tricks
These teas are as much a pleasure for the eyes as they are to the palette.
Experience a cup of tea like never before. Drop a Tea Blossom, by Adagio Teas, in hot water and the hand-woven cluster slowly unfurls, exposing a delicate flower sitting at the bottom of your mug. Watching the petals open as you sip adds a soothing aesthetic to tea time. You'll find a night-blooming jasmine flower in the Jasmine Bloom variety, and an exotic orange lily in the Red Bloom flavor.
At $10 for a 10-bloom box, the wrapped teas--only recently available outside of China--won't replace your Lipton fix but they're great for rainy days and special occasions.

There is no sales tax on tea. Teaware items are subject to sales tax for the residents of New Jersey only. top "What are your shipping rates?" All orders received on a business day by 3pm EST are shipped the same business day. Orders placed after this or over the weekend will go out the next business day. Our US shipping prices are very reasonable: Ground rate (non-rural) is only $3.75. Second Day delivery is $7.75. Next Day rates are calculated automatically based on weight and distance. To learn more, please visit our shipping page. top "Do you ship to (insert international destination here)?" We ship orders to most countries with USPS. The delivery option outside the United States takes 1-6 weeks to arrive. Shipping rates are automatically calculated in checkout based on weight and distance. To see an estimate of what these charges may be for your country, please use our shipping rates calculator. Please email us if there are additional questions about international packages. top "How do I send a gift to another address?" To send to a different address, simply select "or enter a new address" in the shipping address section of checkout and enter the gift recipient's address. All your purchases may be gift-wrapped at no additional charge. Simply select "yes" when prompted "Is this a gift?" in checkout and select the items you'd like to get wrapped. Our round tea tins, not conducive to wrapping, are instead packaged in our beautiful decorative gift-boxes. top "I need to ship these to two different addresses. Can I combine them into one order to save on shipping?" The total for EACH ORDER must be over $75 to take advantage of "Free Shipping Over $75." top "What's up with the rural surcharge?!" We rely on the services of Fedex and UPS to delivery our packages (both are more reliable than the post office), and the rural classification for your ZIP code is within their discretion. As you may imagine, it costs more to deliver packages in rural areas. Consequently, both Fedex and UPS charge us extra for rural deliveries. We do not make any money on this surcharge! Still, even with the $2 surcharge, hope you agree that our shipping rates are very reasonable. top "Can I ship to Alaska/Hawaii?" We gladly ship orders to Alaska and Hawaii. The only caveat is that the shipping fee is higher. Since neither Fedex or UPS is a viable option, we must ship AK and HI orders with Priority Mail, a more pricey option at $7.75 per order. top "Can I ship to an APO/FPO?" We happily ship to APO/FPO addresses via USPS Priority Mail service. The only caveat is that the shipping fee is higher at $7.75 per order. top "How do I use a gift certificate?" The entry point for your gift-certificate is found on the very first check-out page, where you are given an option of using a gift-certificate or credit card. Please select 'gift-certificate' and our system will automatically subtract its amount from your purchase. And allow you to place any amount remaining on a credit card of your choice. We unfortunately may not do this retroactively, so please follow these instructions thoroughly and email us if there are still problems before completing your order! top "I don't like ordering online. Can I order by phone or pay by check/money order?" Unfortunately, at this time we do not offer live phone ordering or support. However, we are lightning fast at answering emails! Media Here are some of our recent media appearances. For latest press releases and product photos, please scroll down. The Boston Globe Loose tea can be, well, cumbersome -- all that fussing with steeping and disposing of the leaves. Tea bags, an American invention of the early part of the last century, are much easier. Lucky for us, Adagio Teas is putting out varieties such as Dragonwell green tea, Ti Kuan Yin and Jasmine Pearls oolong teas, and Silver Needle white tea, along with Golden Yunan and English breakfast black teas. The tea comes in mesh pouches of loose leaves, enclosed in sealed foil packets. The mesh is triangular-shaped, making it easy to pull out of the cup without an unattractive paper tab. HGTV - I Want That! I Want That! showcases innovations for the home. Our ingenious teapot was selected as one of the highlights in the tea and coffee category. The Wall Street Journal The White Peony tea from Adagio Teas is a lovely, everyday white tea with a smooth taste and some peppery notes. At $6 for one ounce, it's our Best Value. Time Magazine The Future of Homemaking: Tea Time. The ingenuiTEA offers a tidy way to brew and serve loose-leaf tea. Rest the teapot on the rim of your mug, and filtered tea pours in through a valve. It's microwave safe - just don't nuke the leaves. The New York Times High-end tea is in a category of its own, said Michael Cramer, a former investment banker who founded Adagio, based in Clifton, N.J. "It's more like the new wine because of the new varietals," he said, adding that even though teas (other than herbal teas) are all from the same plant, "it differs in how it is grown and processed in the hands of an artisan, and that's how it becomes interesting." HGTV- Home and Housewares Our ingenuiTEA teapot and utiliTEA kettle were selected as highlights at this year's Housewares Show in Chicago. Michele Torres and Kyle Burns demonstrate both. Food and Wine Magazine Coffeemakers have become more elaborate and now tea-brewing gizmos are following suit. Adagio Teas, for instance, recently introduced ingenuiTEA, a self-filtering transparent pot. After steeping loose leaves in boiled water, you place the pot on a mug, and the filtering system drains brewed tea into the cup. Progressive Grocer That's one of the secrets behind Anteadote, a new bottled tea from Adagio that uses Japanese technology to extract the oxygen from each bottle. "By taking the air out, the tea can't oxidize, and without oxidation it can't spoil, so there's no need to add any chemicals or preservatives." Philadelphia Enquirer I always liked the idea of brewing a pot of loose tea at the office, especially in the afternoon after a day of hard coffee drinking. But the inconvenience has always been a deterrent. The Bergen Record Tea drinking in the United States is on the rise and with it has come a growing number of Web sites devoted to selling the ancient leaf. One of the more well-known is Clifton-based Adagio Tea, a thriving dot-com that blends sales with customer education and may be an ecommerce venture that promises to pay off. Marketing Sherpa When Michael Cramer co-founded Adagio Teas back in 1999 together with his mother and brother, they didn't expect to become Internet zillionaires. They just wanted to expand the gourmet tea market to what was then an uncaring world. realiTEA gourmet teabags Our teabags join a crowded field of products all claiming to be "gourmet." However they are the only product on the market containing full-leaf tea. In fact, these are the same grades of tea we offer loose. The only difference is added convenience. Available in six varieties. triniTEA electric tea maker The only electrical tea maker on the market, triniTEA combines the functions of a kettle, teapot and warmer in one simple device. It heats water, steeps leaves, and keeps tea warm for you to enjoy all day long. A variable timer even lets you control the strength of an infusion, ensuring a perfect cup of tea each time. utiliTEA variable-temp kettle The first electric kettle on the market to offer variable temperature control. Unlike other kettles which can only boil water, utiliTEA offers a gamut of temperature settings. This makes it ideal for the preparation of green tea, which is best steeped at a "cooler than boiling" temperature. visibiliTEA loose teas Retail packaging with a twist - a clear top that permits a view of the leaves inside. In another industry first, Adagio lets customers evaluate the quality of tea prior to purchase. And offers those who are new to gourmet tea a chance to learn more about its many varieties. ingenuiTEA teapot An ingenious teapot with a unique filtering system. Once placed atop a cup, the valve at the bottom opens, permitting crystal-clear tea flow down, while a mesh filter retains all the leaves. Among the easiest tea preparation products on the market. anTEAdote RTD teas An award-winning unsweetened green tea bottled with a unique packaging process that removes all oxygen, averting the need for additives or preservatives. Among the few products to be made with real tea leaves, not powders or concentrates. TeaMap directory An online directory of tearooms across the country, with detailed contact information, photos, maps, driving directions, and many customer reviews.
